History
Cindus Corporation, a paper converting company since 1923, is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our primary business is creping paper. We have organized our sales and marketing functions and our manufacturing operations into 3 separate divisions to better service and satisfy our customers needs.
The Technical Division has developed and offers a wide variety of highly specialized creped and calendered insulation products for the electrical industry. These products are used as high voltage conductor insulation in power and distribution transformers. Our products are also used as coil separation sheets, insulation in starter motors, on field coils, and to wrap static rings.
The Decorative Division is considered a major supplier to the party goods industry. Products ranging from creped streamers, plain and printed tissue, creped folds, mylar sheets, shreds and gift bags are marketed under the CINDUS brand and many other private labels.
Creped/calendered grades are available in master rolls that are trimmed 22.5" wide and wound to 18" diameters on 3" I.D. cores. Magnet wire insulation pads can be slit as narrow as .375" and wound to 20" maximum diameter on 2", 3" or 4" I.D. cores. Hand tapes are generally wound on 1" I.D. cores to smaller diameters. Most wire insulation pads are wound to larger diameters, up to 20" maximum. Master, full width rolls are generally ordered to 18" O.D., but are available in larger diameters.
Creped only grades are available in wider widths, ranging 40" to 45" from current stock paper. Custom widths are available to 68" wide for appropriate quantities. Master roll diameters range from 18" to 40".
The Industrial Division produces both single directional and all directional crepe (X-Crepe) for a variety of use in industry. These products utilize the qualities of creped paper: e.g. elasticity, surface characteristics, cushionability, enhanced
tear resistance, formability, and suppleness.
Our capabilities to rewind and slit, sheet, sew, laminate and fold enable us to produce creped materials used in desiccant bags, extrusion wrap, pressure sensitive stencil backing, barrel sleeves and liners, shower slippers, bale wrap and
interleaving sheets - just to name a few.
Our Customer Service department will work with you to identify the particular CINDUS product that fits your application or develop a new product to meet your needs.
Cindus Corporation is a custom manufacturer of many forms of crepe paper. Our electrical products are made from high quality kraft paper. The properties of the base material are primarily responsible for the insulating strength of our creped product. Exact specifications for raw materials and continuous inspection of our process and the products made, assures the quality levels required for use in transformers and cable wrap. Rapid oil impregnation is a key characteristic of INSULSTRETCH® creped electrical insulation paper. Add to this the creping process, and the result is an insulation medium well suited for high stress applications.
Cindus is also the exclusive manufacturer of X-Crepe, the only true "all directional" stretch paper in the world. X-Crepe is used extensively in the manufacture of flexible tubing for the transformer industry. X-Crepe is an excellent alternative for lead cable insulation.
